If you haven’t used the blind hem stitch on your sewing machine lately, or if you never have, do it now! It’s so cool and awesome and easy! These are the little things that bring great joy to me.
On my vintage machine, it’s setting H and I use this presser foot.
Measure, fold and press the new hem. Pant leg should be inside out.
Turn hem in towards right side of leg leaving a small approx. 1/8″ edge on hem.
Insert under presser foot as shown. When you sew, most stitches are on the 1/8″ edge in a zig-zag pattern and then the needle catches a teeny tiny bit of the pant leg on the left side which is the actual blind hem.
Turn hem down and pants right side out. Look at the cool tiny stitch on the outside ~ blind hem stitch!!
